It’s June now. Apple hasn’t launched any new product after iPhone SE’s release in March. So, we don’t see too many changes of the iOS rankings under this circumstance.

Today, we have sorted out the data at the backstage and released the list of the Top 10 Best Performing iOS Devices in May 2020.

The data are all calculated based on the iOS version of Antutu Benchmark V8. The data collection period is from May 1 to May 31. The scores shown are all average benchmark scores, not the highest ones, which are more representative.

From the overall rankings, we can see that the top three remains the same as that in March. iPad Pro 4 (12.9-inch), with the overall benchmark score of 720440, ranks the first; while the second and the third switched places. This time, iPad Pro 4 (11-inch) has become the second, with the average benchmark score of 711570, while the old version of iPad Pro 3 (12.9-inch) ranks the third, with the average benchmark score of 704577.

Currently, the top three iOS devices all have the scores of over 700,000, which is quite scary. When it comes to the fourth place, iPad Pro 3 (11-inch), the average benchmark score has dropped to 66784. From this perspective, for iOS devices, the advantages of iPad series products are distinct compared with iPhones.

The next three iOS products following iPad series are the three models of iPhone 11. Their average benchmark scores differ the way venti, grande and tall cups do. iPhone 11 Pro Max ranks the fifth, with the average benchmark score of 520670, the iPhone 11 Pro ranks the sixth, with the score of 504427, and the iPhone 11 ranks the seventh, with the score of 493498.

Here, some of you may think that, following iPhone 11 series, the next will be iPhone SE, the latest and strongest iOS model.

Actually, it’s not. The new iPhone SE has the same ranking as last time, ranking the ninth. This time, it has the average benchmark score of 462532, which is also lower than that of iPad Air 3, 478095.

The main difference of the two products lies in 3d and ux performance. As for CPU, the performance is almost the same. And the MEM score of the latest iPhone SE even surpasses that of iPad Air 3. Therefore, the overall scores of the two are almost the same. We don’t have to care too much about such small difference in the scores.

The last product in the iOS Top 10 in May is still iPad mini 5, with the average benchmark score of 456179. It has been here for a very long time. Before Apple launches any new product, it is most likely that it will stay at this place.

That’s all for the iOS devices performance rankings in May. Since the new iPhone SE became a part of the ranking list in April, now we finally see some new things in it. But afterwards, it may remain almost the same in the next several months. Anyway, let’s look forward to the new iPhone launch in September, which will be the final version of iOS products this year.
